Well, first of all, to tell you that many of the ingredients that were formerly used a lot in confectionery, today have entered with great force to be used in our kitchen, and we use them even with savory dishes. And we love it!

  • 250gr kilo of flour for empanada. (To prepare the flour)
  • 150 ml. of cream fraîche.
  • 150 gr. of butter in pieces.
  • 4 eggs – 1 of them, their yolk.
  • 250 gr of fresh cheese.
  • 1 chicken breast.
  • 2 onions and cilantro, chopped.
  • 3 gr. of black pepper and curry powder.
  • A pinch of nutmeg.
  • teaspoons: 1/2 salt and 1/2 sugar.
  • Olive oil.
  • Glasses of water.

These empanadas will be baked without any problem, instead of using butter or oil you can use margarine to give the crunchy touch and do not dry your empanada.

Preparation of chicken with cream

Note: The video is in French, but if you follow my steps or those of the video, you will have a rich result.

Preparation in 5 steps.

1. Prepare the flour.

I give you a quick review of the preparation.

With the 250 gr of flour, joined together with the two teaspoons of salt and two of sugar, several pieces of butter, beat them very well. (If we use a food processor, remember to remove the flour from the walls to have a homogeneous mixture).

Mix it all very well and then put them in the refrigerator for an hour.

2. Prepare a chicken. with seasoning!

My trick: Hit the breast with a mallet, pepper and season to taste, put for 15 minutes to boil the chicken in a pot with two bay leaves.

Once this time has passed, chop the chicken into small cubes.

Place a large pan with hot olive oil and add the diced onion, and sauté it for 5 minutes or so.

Now, add the chicken pieces, along with the turmeric and pepper salt to taste, and stir to the rhythm of your favorite music.

If you are left with hardly any oil, add one more splash so that everything cooks very well.

Put them on low heat until cooked well, about 5 minutes.

3. Let's assemble a great dough in our mold.

After the whole filling process, it's time to look for your favorite mold, to spread the dough you had stored in the fridge.


The mixture you have in your hands must be dense so that you can spread it in your empanadas mold.

Spread the flour as best you can, with a roller preferably to have homogeneity. And add it to the mold without it sticking out much. THIS IS GOING TO GROW!

Put the filling mixture on the spread.

Finally, mix the fresh cream with 2 eggs and spread it over the filling until it is covered.

4. It's time to warm up, straight to the oven!

Preheat the oven to 220ºC, when you feel it with a little heat, put your empanada inside.

Leave it at 220ºC for about 20 minutes.

5. Have a good time!
